Drop In Volunteer

What you would be doing:
- Volunteer as part of a team offering support and encouragement to parents
- Host the café as if it were your own front room
- Look to connect people to others in their community
An ideal person for the role would have:
- A non-judgemental, encouraging nature
- Ability to listen
- A value in the importance of family life
- An enjoyment in communicating with adults and children alike
- To be available without your own children (not essential)
- Experience in the field of child development in some form (not essential)
- Have an empathy and desire to understand the impact of anxiety in people’s lives
Amount of time required
- One morning a week during term time…Time frames can be set to suit the situation
Support offered to you:
- Initial 6 sessions of training with other Hope volunteers
- Training with other Drop In volunteers to share ideas
- Resources needed for the table top activities
- Ongoing contact with a Hope leader to ask any questions or individual advice
- Ongoing training with other Hope volunteers, offering discussions to build your skills and understanding in how to support parents.
