Sparkle group leader

An ideal person for the role would have:
- Their own experience of motherhood
- A non-judgemental, encouraging nature
- An ability to listen and be flexible
- A desire/ability to facilitate conversation
- A value in the importance of family life
- An enjoyment in talking with adults and children alike
- Own transport is useful but not essential
What you would be doing:
- Work in partnership with another mum
- Facilitate the running of a weekly group for up to 8 or 9 mothers
- Be a voice of encouragement and care to the group members
- Help manage a Facebook group for up to 15 members
Amount of time required:
- 2 hours a week for the group meeting in term time
- 1.5 hr a term for ongoing support sessions Volunteer meetings
- Pastoral care of the members as you have time for and is needed.
Support offered to you:
- Initial 6 sessions of training with other Hope volunteers
- Support to start up your new group
- Plans and suggestions for activities and the resources needed
- Ongoing training, once a term, offering discussion around issues faced by parents and contact with other Sparkle group volunteers
- Ongoing contact with a Hope leader to ask any questions or individual advice
- Advice and support to fund the project

Other relevant information:
Volunteering would start:
- Once we have have a satisfactory DBS check
- As a core of 4 mothers forms for a new group in an area (this can be developed with the help of a Hope representative.)
